Frequently Asked Questions
How involved will I be as a parent or guardian?
Closely. It starts with a pre-retreat conversation to understand your teen, continues with updates during the retreat, and ends with a post-retreat session so growth keeps going at home. This is a partnership.
How is my teen kept safe?
Safety is the foundation of everything. Teens are supervised in a structured, trauma-informed environment with a predictable daily schedule they know in advance. We'll walk you through our supervision and safety approach in detail before you ever say yes.
What if my teen has never done anything like this?
That describes most of the teens who come. There's nothing to prepare or prove. Sarah meets them with respect and never talks down to them — trust is built gently, at their pace.
Is this therapy or clinical treatment?
No. This is a growth retreat — experiential, faith-rooted, and skills-focused. It complements, and never replaces, care from your teen's counselor, therapist, or doctor. We encourage families to keep their providers in the loop.
Will my teen be forced to share or open up?
Never. Sharing is always invited, not demanded. Much of the work is hands-on and creative, and teens engage at their own pace as trust grows.
Can you accommodate dietary needs?
Yes. Share any dietary needs or allergies ahead of time and meals will be prepared with your teen in mind.
Does my teen need a faith background?
No. Sarah leads from a faith-rooted heart, and spiritual grounding is offered gently — but your teen is welcome exactly as they are, wherever they are on their own journey.
What if plans change after we book?
Family life is unpredictable — we understand. If something shifts, reach out and we'll work with you as best we can. We'd always rather talk it through together.
